Maintenance Manager

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or engineering and have a minimum of five years of relevant experience, which includes machine repair, maintenance management, and exposure to the manufacturing industry. This experience should include at least three years in a departmental management role, overseeing both salaried and hourly employees. The candidate should have a proven track record of driving team performance improvements to enhance KPIs and achieve targeted goals. Generally, candidates should also have a minimum of three years’ experience managing substantial departmental budgets in the multimillion-dollar range and a demonstrated proficiency in leading organizational transformations. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, with the ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels, from hourly personnel to Executive leadership. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate competence in identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives. Legal authorization to work in the United States is a requirement for this position.

Job Responsibilities

The Maintenance Manager oversees plant-wide maintenance and production operations by managing the Central Shops (Machine Shop, Truck Repair Shop, Roll Shops) and driving Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives and cost management for the department. Responsibilities include achieving outcomes in EHS, productivity, asset management, personnel development, cost control, quality, and team growth using methodologies like TPM, Kaizen, daily management, and 5S. Collaborating across departments is crucial to meet business-aligned goals efficiently. The manager supervises about 10 salaried personnel and indirectly oversees around 100 hourly workers, including mechanics, machinists, roll grinders, truck repair mechanics, and apprentices. Additionally, the manager supports the craft training team in implementing apprenticeship programs within the Central Shops.

Compensation

The position offers a base salary ranging from USD $90,000 to $110,000 annually for full-time employment with comprehensive benefits. Relocation assistance is potentially available for the ideal candidate. There is no commission or bonus compensation, and overtime pay is not applicable. Interview-related travel expenses will be reimbursed.
