Qualifications

Applicants must meet several basic requirements for this role: holding a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution, being legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring company sponsorship, and residing within 50 miles of Washington, PA, as no relocation assistance is provided. The role entails machining and assembling tooling per drawing specifications to meet production needs, necessitating proficiency in reading blueprint drawings and operating manual lathes, mills, grinders, and related equipment. Familiarity with machining various tool steel materials such as D2, A2, and copper is essential. Preferred qualifications include an associate degree in Tool and Machining or a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a die maker, expertise in creating die tooling for stamping and manufacturing processes, proficiency in TIG/MIG welding, and knowledge of the steel heat treating process.

Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will design and manufacture progressive dies and tools specifically for steel outlet boxes. You’ll also perform regular maintenance and repairs on these dies to uphold their optimal performance and durability. It will be crucial to inspect finished components meticulously to confirm they meet die specifications and strict manufacturing standards. Identifying and troubleshooting issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations will be part of your responsibilities. Collaboration with engineering and the master die maker will be essential to enhance die designs and streamline production efficiency. Adherence to all safety protocols, especially while operating machinery in the die shop, is paramount. You’ll oversee the handling and storage of materials used in die-making to maintain their quality. Keeping detailed records of die maintenance, repairs, and modifications for future reference will also be required. Engaging in continuous improvement efforts to optimize production processes and maximize die performance will round out your responsibilities in this dynamic role.

Compensation

The position offers a base salary ranging from USD $56,000 to $57,636 annually for full-time employment with comprehensive benefits included. There is no relocation assistance or commission compensation available, and the role is not eligible for bonuses. However, overtime pay is applicable. Interview-related travel expenses will not be reimbursed.
